What Are Clear Braces?
Clear braces actually have a lot in common with traditional metal ones. A wire is placed over each row of teeth, and this applies a consistent force that slowly moves them into the correct positions. Brackets on each tooth keep the wire in place. However, what makes clear braces special is the materials used to make them.
Instead of gray metal, the brackets are a clear ceramic material, and the wires are tooth-colored. The brackets are also flat and sit flush against the teeth. The end result is that the appliance has a much less obvious appearance, helping patients feel less self-conscious about their treatment.
